What is the meaning of singing to someone?

Well,there are many possible meanings,but singing can be just for fun,or for a contest,and maybe for religious meanings.But there are other more.Like one time a guy sang a love song to me,I can get that he likes me,and apparently after a few weeks,he sent me a message telling me that he likes me.Songs are like messages,so next time if you want to express something or sing for fun,enjoy!
