Wondering since WW2 what is the longest time the British army have spent dug in/ spent in trenches?

Perhaps a few hours, no one does trench warfare anymore, not since the first world war anyway. The British especially learnt the hard way that trenches don't work and with mechanized infantry trenches are simply dumb. If you mean entrenched positions then possibly a few days, maybe a week while waiting relief, escort or support.
Yes sorry, I meant entrenched postions, as I know of an infantry company spend 31 days entrenched {25 years ago} whilst on tour in Northern Ireland, apparently the longest time a regiment had spend in trenches since the Korean war
