Ok so your sick of paying your mortgage and you feel like going back to your roots so you find yourself a good tree and build yourself a treehouse. I'm in the UK and I'm pretty sure someone would have to say about it but who know maybe you could claim it as your own answers on a postcard (RECYCLED)

It is always illegal to live on land that doesn't belong to you without the owner's permission. So, get permission.
The question of legality isn't as important, in this instance, as the question of enforcement. If you can find a nice eclectic neighborhood where eccentricity is considered a virtue, you might just get away with it.
It also wouldn't hurt to get a corporate sponsor. There are always companies looking to expand their brand awareness through weird stuff like that.
Excellent answer ! Is a bit shit the fact that were all technically homeless from birth I wonder what the world would be like if it was illegal to own land.Bit of a twist, we could collectively claim ownership of our houses and refuse to pay the banks. Revolution anyone ?
