The noble Koran is the book of God revealed by the angel Gabriel to prophet Mohammed (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), it is the word of God to his apostle (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) including everything a Muslim needs in his life, describing everything will happen to him in the hereafter, showing the great favors prepared for believers and the great torture prepared for disbelievers, the Koran is as God says:
“It is sent down by One Full of Wisdom, Worthy of all Praise (God)” Surat Fosselat, Verse 42.
The apostle (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to get it by revelation and when it was coming to him he felt a sentimental status seen by all people around him, after that he says the verses revealed to him by God, soon the people who could read and write amongst his companions receive them and write them down on pieces of leather or bones or stones and add them to each other according to his orders (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), following the instructions of Gabriel, he used to tell him the places of verses when revealed to him. He used to recite all revealed Koran upon him once a year in Ramadan, in the year he died he recited the whole Koran twice upon him in the month of Ramadan, this is among the secrets by which God protects His book.
Some people allege that Prophet Mohammed wrote the Koran by himself, this is a weak plea doesn’t depend on a single true evidence. The prophet was an illiterate man, he didn’t know how to read or write, he wasn’t educated in a university or by teachers, he only left Mecca twice to trade in Syria, he never gone to universities or to learn at nearby towns. Then how did he get the history of previous nations and the news of the following ages and these great legislations that astonish modern scientists as they match the modern actual life? How did he know the most recent scientific theories only discovered nowadays? How did he analyze the human soul and mentioned emotions and obsessions inside man whereas psychology and its theories only appeared at this time?
Many other things also assure that these words are the talk of The Creator and The All Powerful (God).
if u are confused of this explanation, the Quraan is the book of Islam. The same way of how the Bible is to the Christians.
Now, as Muslims, we believe that all the religious books(Bible, Torah, etc) were written by God originally but were later reworded (with the exception of the Quraan) by humans who wanted to follow their desires. For example, let's recall when god told the Christians in the Bible that alcohol wasn't allowed for them. They didn't like it, so, they changed it, they reworded the Bible. That's why Muslims don't take Christianity as a true religion. Islam, however is the word of Allah, the only true God. It wasn't reworded or changed. You might be asking, how do you know it hasn't changed? Well, that's quite easy to answer. The Quraan was written in poetic verses by Allah, no one, and I mean NO ONE can try to reword It. The language is too strong for anyone to imitate. Even the arab poets, which were the best poets at the time, couldn't reword it, many cases did exist were they would try, but then all the verses would sound like poems, not like the Quraan. Also, when the Quraan was "published", it was published into many copies around the world, if anone was to reword it, we would have different copies of the Quraan, but we only have one copy spread around the world. Meaning if you were to gather random copies of the Quraan from all over the world, you'd find them to be identical, no change whatsoever. Allah almighty has said in different parts of the Quraan:
1. “Say: ‘If all mankind and the jinn would come together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce its like even though they exerted all and their strength in aiding one another.’” (Quran 17:88)
2.“Or do they say that he (the prophet) has invented it? Say (to them), ‘Bring ten invented chapters like it, and call (for help) on whomever you can besides God, if you are truthful.” (Quran 11:13)
3. “And if you all are in doubt about what I have revealed to My servant, bring a single chapter like it, and call your witnesses besides God if you are truthful.” (Quran 2:23)
But how do you know the Bible has been reworded?
Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God (which is very false) and they obey the Bible which was written by God, Jesus's father, and they believe that "god" has written the bible. But when Allah revealed the Bible to his prophet at the time, Jesus, it was written in slight rhythm, which would be imitated easily and it was. It was imitated and changed-by many people. And that's why there are so many different Bibles and so many types of Christianity, Allah only wrote one bible, and it was lost and will be lost forever.
I hope this wasn't too lengthy or boring, but a true religion like Islam deserves to be explained to those looking for guidance.
May Allah guide you to the straight path, His path.
