The term solubility refers to the capacity of a particular substance that can melt or soften in a particular solvent. This term can also be defined as the quality of a substance being soluble and easily dissolved in liquid.

A solubility curve is a measurement shown on a graph that is used to determine the mass of a given dissolved item (such as salt or sugar) in 100ml of water. The item that is dissolved in the water is called a solute. If a number falls below the line on the graph, it means the solution is unsaturated, or it can hold more solute.
