Many people say that we're the church

The word church is translated from Greek EKKLESIA which means "called out for a specific purpose". There are two places in Acts where a mob is called a church (called out for the purpose of beating the apostles) and a court is called a church (called out for the purpose of judging the mob). In the epistles, churches met in somebody's home. It is a later invention that a church is considered to be a building or a corporation.
