just be the big dog and say we're done. that's how i did with my jerk for a friend. actually i just blocked his number after he stayed the night uninvited and now i'm ignoring him. he wasted my time.

The best way to end a relationship is to be honest! Unfortunately this also seems to be the hardest way for most people. Just tell them it isn't working and why. Maybe it is something that can be fixed if you discuss the issues you have and you can continue the relationship or maybe a friendship at least.
