You've probably solved this by now, but I'll answer anyway.
So you've got 4x+1=11/3
1. Times through by 3 to get 12x+3=11
2. Take away the 3 to get 12x=8
3. Divide by 12 to get x=8/12 (I don't have a calculator near me so you could work that out as a decimal by dividing eight by twelve)
