What's it like? Big, small, scary, exciting, fun, loud? Please explain because I'm going into the 9th grade next year and I really want to know what high school is like.

can i just say something awesome right now? "I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means "no"." okay, i think high school the first time i was there was pretty big? and yeah, like i was so scared i was thinking "S.O.S, im so scared help me im scared," but yeah high school wasn't so scary after that i got used to the fact that i had to get out of bed every morning around 7:00 (or even around 6:00) and i had so much fun after that, so yeah im in 12th grade now and i still think high school is scary except that i am the biggest grade there and i am not scared anymore (sorry i just said i was still scared but i will transfer that to *not* scared) and so i think high school was fun the first 3 years and now for 12th grade i feel sad because i am leaving to go to college and i think that it was fun You will like high school alot i think you will like it more than i did i was bored out of my mind
so yeah, Highschool is fun
It depends on what country you are in. In the USA we use a public school system developed by the Greeks to train slaves. Graduates have no idea how to look for a job, apply for a loan, buy a house or car, talk to a cop, file a lawsuit, defend themselves in legal matters, balance a checking account, or anything required to pretend to be a normal citizen. Leasrning about life in back alleys worked better.
If you are in the USA you really should refuse to participate. Take classes at the community college. That is a different world just because everybody there is grown up, sort of. Take civics, personal financial management, and acting. Vocal skill such as public speaking, drama, or singing will improve your earning power more than any other detail.
High school for me was great. You will love it you get more freedom then middle school. There is alot of activites you can join if you like to partipate in things like that. You do have alot of homework though especially math of what i have noticed. The work does get a little harder. There is not as much drama as middle school has. I personally think its way better.
The first few weeks would be hard because you will be adjusting to a new environment. Everything is new, unless you have some friend who will be going to the same school that you are going to attend. I'm from another country so English is my second language. If I made it so can you. You just have to pick the right friends. My advice is do something like school activities after school or join sports/music/arts. You enjoy high school but with limitations.
High School is a bit scary, as it is a big thing. When you get there though, it's not as bad as everyone stereotypes. Don't worry, you'll be fine.
top tips:
-always do your homework
-have equipment + spares of equipment
-be polite to everyone, no matter if they and you hate each other
-smile, walk confident
-don't worry if you need to ask directions
NEVER believe anyone who says new kids get heads flushed down the loos, they're probably worriedyou'll be better than they are in a subject. Hope that helps & good luck!
Yeah, that was just previews. This is - this is opening night. And Loki, he's a full-tilt diva, right? He wants flowers, he wants parades. He wants a monument built to the skies with his name plastered...
high school, and the first thing that comes to my mind is , crazy! it is different for different people, "like the popular" girl or boy, would find it awesome, the "nerds" ,may find it interesting and the average kids, like me may feel pretty crazy about it. the first day is quite scary, you will have new relationships, new books, new stories, and a whole new lot of friends. one major point is to not make assumptions of people before hand. be friends with everyone. in the end, you'll surely get a hang of it. relationships may be the biggest case out here for almost everyone after a month or two, it still is for me now, because i am single and i see other popular girls out with guys i "had" a crush on. make sure, that studies come first!!! it wont be that scary after all, and i know that you'll get a hang of it pretty nicely!!!!
There is no such thing as one answer that fits everyone. Your experience is based on you and what you bring to the situation. Your attitude, your ability to socialize, your choice as to whether you are there to get yourself prepared for the future or to play around, your choice as to what kind of people you hang out with, etc.
It's scary for about 98 percent of the newbie 9th graders. You listen to everyone else and instead of looking at it as an adventure you let other people mess with your mind. Bring your sense of adventure and inquisitiveness, sense of fun and you'll do just fine. Stop worrying about it. Your entire class is starting off on the same footing and you should be excited to enter the world of the high schooler. You look forward to your future outside of high school, career, dating, dances and great friendships.
Happy holidays and best wishes for an awesome 2018 transition!
High school can be some what scary in grade 9 but after that it is a pure walk in the park. Otherwise known as a piece of cake. If you do your work and hand it in on time you will most likely get easy 80's even if you do semi-bad on a test. Friends are so easy to find in high school so that will be a breeze. Anyways, high school is very easy and not scary at all so you will be just fine. By the way make sure you have a routine for every semester or that could be difficult.
"There is not as much drama as middle school" oh my god can I go to your school cause my school... OH my god
