This pill is Oxymorphone extended-release 40mg, generic for Opana ER 40mg. The same marking used to be on a generic Promethazine 25mg pill, but they have not been manufactured for about five years. This is the brand oxymorphone generic we stock at my pharmacy, as they are cheapest and customers claim that they work best. I hope this helps!
Unbelievable, truly unbelievable!!! TexasPharmacist33221 obviously you are taking all of the narcotics in your pharmacy which has caused you to be brain dead! What an absolutely absurd answer you posted. And Flywithme cosigned on your ridiculously incorrect answer. Obviously TexasPharmicist33221 and Flywithme are flying high on stupidity and quite possibly narcotics and NOT an opiod narcotic PROMETHAZINE- get real dudes, you need some serious help!
This is NOT a generic for Opana, to the OP, this is and has always been generic for Phenergan, as Promethazine 25 mg NOT Oxymorphone or the brand Opana. I wish that people would STOP giving bad information it could possibly put someone in danger or kill them. Always use the pill identifier on a trusted site, or documentation. I studied Pharmacology and other medical services and i'm not on here to act like a know it all but i will step in when i seen bad advice or bad or hurtful information. I signed up for this site just to reply, that's how concerned this post/answer caused me to be.
I just signed up for exactly this same reason. Makes me so frustrated!!!
I have this prescription and it is promethazine. I don't know why the other person stated that. Thank you for putting out the correct information.
The answer stating this is a narcotic pain medication such as Opana, is frightening! Especially coming from someone who claims to work as a Pharmacist. I have been on Promethazine for 3yrs now since my cancer diagnosis. It is early 2017 & this round white pill with imprint AN 521 is Promethazine 25mg tablets made by Amneal Pharmaceuticals. I'm sure the poster was very disappointed when they didn't get high on this, more than likely sleepy. If this is YOUR prescription, then you know exactly what you have, just look at the label on your bottle. If you have taken it from someone else, obviously you would be online asking what it was. It's so frustrating seeing things like this. Thank you for helping make people in true pain, jump through hoops just for their medications. There is no generic Promethazine 25mg with the imprint AN 521 that was discontinued years ago & no longer made. Please do not answer a question like this if you really do not know for sure what the medication is. No offense, I really hope you don't work in my home town, in my pharmacy lol! Your incorrect information can kill someone. And they would actually take your word for it because you claim to be a pharmacist!
TexasPharmacist, thanks for the help. I actually pulled out my pill identification book and found out it was generic Opana before I saw your response. Thanks for the helpful info!
