What is a safe medication for osteoporosis without too many side effects?

Bones are made of calcium and magnesium, and use is controlled by vitamin D. The pads in the joints are made of vitamin C. I hope it is obvious that one should learn a few things about those nutrients and make an effort to eat an adequate amount of each.

Thank you for that response, but it did not answer my question. I am taking Calcium and vitamin D. Recently I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and because of all the side effects of osteoporosis medication I am confused on which medication I should be taking. Can anyone give me advice.

The advice is to study books about nutrition. Doctors can not give you advice on nutrition because they have no training in that field. They have no training because it is a young science and not entirely reliable yet. This is a field where amateurs tend to get better results than professionals.
