What is a really good novel to read?

You should read some classics. Like, Old Yeller, and To kill a mockingbird. Those are some good books.

The books I recommend you read, (if you want not that I am forcing you to), is A Long Way Gone, Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, by Ishmael Beah. Its about a 12 year old boy, who first experiences war in the 1900s, (a little more than the 1900s), and he tells us his story of how he survives the wars that was going on. He and his older brother Junior are separated, and their parents died. But, then, some rebels are going around each village and killing people, for no reason, just wanting to prove that if they try to escape their part of their land/village, the rebels will just go around and shoot the people. Some children die as well, but not Ishmael, and Junior. This novel takes place in Sierra Leone in Africa, in some part of Africa.
