"Gee whiz" has no place in science. (In spite of it being so popular.) The first requirement is that your science be right, and the fact is nobody knows much about the brain. That means damage is not likely repairable.
You say "bike". There are two machines known by that name, and two different designs of helmets. Speaking of motorcycles, the embarrassing fact is that states that never had helmet laws had lower accident rates than states that required helmets. Speaking of foot powered bicycles, the design of the helmet is obviously a joke. The helmet only protects against objects falling from above: no protection at all for the side of the head. There is your science!
