Obviously, solving math problems on a scrath paper will let you to see the flow of calculations and how you got the answer. While using calculator, even it is a faster way and more accurate but you cannot get the step by step calculations.

The advantage to using a calculator is speed. The disadvantage is reliance. If you become unable to do something without a certain technology, you become reliant on it. I don't mind anyone using technology but it bothers me when people make themselves subservient to it. It's our tool, it shouldn't be an enfeebling device.
