What happens to the Youtube channel of the deceased?

Does somebody inherit it? Does it get removed eventually? When, if so? Can somebody take it down for some reason?

I think, usually, next of kin has to contact youtube to take it down. Like with most social media sites, I'm sure that's how it works.
