I want a custom License plate for California. I went to the DMV page and applied for my plate. There is a --> NOTE: THE LETTERS AND NUMBERS YOU HAVE SELECTED MAY BE DIFFERENT THAN WHAT YOU HAVE CHOSEN.
What is that all about? If the custom license plate I want is not available, they just make up a new one for me and charge me anyway? Do they call me first with the phone number I provided them, and ask if they should go through with the order if it is not available? Has anyone been through this process before?
