What fashionable colour contrasts nicely with cream? please help me!?

I thought about your question and my mother and the women in my family are real good at color schemes and decorating. My mother is redecorating her bedroon amd chose with my help a cream color with a wine red color. I also think that a nice brown and sea-foam green will be nice as well. How many colors are you willing to pair with the cream? Also a mauve would be pretty as well.
