What does the quote "the best ad is a good product" mean?

I thought it mean the best advertisement is the great product itself. Thats mean when you got a great product, people will spread about it, and thats the best advertisement ever. Thats my personal opinion.

Btw, i just remember about "The best defense is a good offense". :D
