Also I've heard they practiced this thing called face marriage, what is that? I am thinking about going to the church and I want to know more about what they believe. Also, how are they towards outsiders? I've heard that they are a very tight community. God bless!

It is called a Faith marriage, not face marriage.
Single members do not date. The man seeks by prayer and reading the Holy Bible if, when and who he should marry within the denomination. The proposal goes to his Elder who shares it with the girl's Elder who gives the proposal to the girl. She seeks the answer by prayer and reading the Holy Bible. The answer is sent back the way it came(thru the Elders). The couple can also be from the same congregation. This is done in secret (the parents may know but not the other church members). If the answer is yes it is shared with close family and then on Sunday after morning services the engagement is announced to the church.
The engagements are 2-6 months long. It is more like courting, very chaste.
Our church has always practiced Faith marriage and has been very much a blessing.
We have about 50 churches in US, Mexico, Japan and Canada. We do A LOT of traveling between the churches.
Visitors are always welcomed and we do have a website.
Couples are encouraged to practice Natural Family Planning and family sizes very from small to 5-7 being common to large families of 10. This is a decision that the couples decide but children are a blessing from God and we are all taught "to eat you need to work". I do know of couples who for health reasons other birth controls were used but this is not the norm.
How does your church practice church discipline? Is it like shunning? How long does it last and how does your church decide when it's necessary?
Years ago the churches were mostly in rural farming communities. The last 30 years or so most new churches were started in the city. The membership in rural areas would live closer to church but in the city the membership tends to be more spread out.
I've heard that the women do not practice birth control. Is this true?
