Hello,
I've come across the phrase 'published experience' in a biological paper dealing with the taxonomy of a particular genus of animals. The whole sentences is as follows:
"There is contradictory published experience with habitat preferences of the species."
Does 'published experience' stand for 'published research' or 'published evidence' or the like? If not, what does it mean, and if so, are there better or more natural ways of saying the same thing?
Many thanks for your answers.
