I'm a first year engineering student at a university this fall. I'm familiar with all of my courses I've signed up for except for ENGR 1112 which is called Computational Methods. I like math but I'm not sure what this class will be about. It might have to do with cad, but I know just as much about cad as I do this class
What does a computational methods class for engineering consist of?

It might be anything, and the teacher might or might not know how to teach it. Find a tutor. There usually is an army of freelance tutors on any campus. (Because of the lousy teachers, you know.)
One possibility: think of a pound of beef in an oven at 350 F. How long does it take for the center to reach a given temperature? The answer is not important, your mother might be able to tell you from her own experience. How you get the answer is important. There are many ways to estimate the required time.
