What doeas it mean that someone has milkweed-pale hair? What colour is that?

I found it in a book but English is not my native language, I'm not sure if this is some poetic metaphor or is it just yellow?

Well, English is my native language but I don't know what milkweed looks like. You can go to images.google.com and search for "milkweed" but the pictures don't all look the same. You can search for "blond hair" but of course you only get pictures of models and famous people.

I would call it a lousy description and get on with the story.
