So I rented a 26' ft truck, moving from North Carolina to Oklahoma City. Which was also late for pick up. No A trip that was suppose to take 2 to 3 days. The first truck broke down on us the first day, the mechanic came out and said he fixed it, 15 minutes later it broke down again. Penske took us to the nearest hotel, and told us we would be reimbursed for the money we spent on the hotel. Later that night the truck was replaced. The next day, we have the same issues with the new truck, and again broke down. They take us to their office, and claim the truck was overloaded. Took it to the scale, and we were 3000 pounds under the limit. Which took all day. By the third day, they replaced the truck yet again. I'm a type 1 diabetic, and noticed I was getting short on my insulin needles. I asked their movers to make sure my bag stays in the front. They still put it way in the back, as they were going front to back. At that point, they promised us we would be reimbursed for all expenses, including food, gas, and hotels plus the truck fee itself. Our trip was backtracked 3 days. The home we were supposed to rent was rented out to another family because we missed 4 appointments in a row with them. The job interview we had lined up was gone. Now we're in a hotel, 7 days after traveling. With no home and absolutely no job. We spent most of our rent money on hotels. And I ran out off all my diabetic needles 2 days ago. I've been reusing my used ones because I had no other choice, and I don't have insurance on Oklahoma, nor could I afford a hospital bill. Today we go to pesnke, and were told they will not reimburse us for any expenses like promised. And only for the bill of the truck. Yet we have no where to live, and can't afford another night at a hotel at this point. I started getting some type of infection on my insulin sites from the used needles, so I stopped using them. Today I was forced to go to the emergency room, and my blood sugar was at 653. I was nearly close into going to a diabetic coma, and this has never happened, nor has my blood sugar gotten this high, and also confirmed an infection on shot sites. I was placed on an IV and in the hospital for most of my day. Penske is no help, we have no place to stay, had limited needles that were enough for a 3 day trip. But now my health, and my life is at stake.
