What are the suitable sewing machines for a haute couture atelier ?

Good question. "Pfaff" is the couture machine of choice, hands down! A less expensive option might be "Janone" but the "Pfaff" has many built-in features that are just superior to all other machines. Many of it's most essential and most taxed parts are made of metal instead of plastic and it has sensors that register the thickness of the fabric for proper tension and feed. As far as we know, no other machines out there have that, at least not to the extent or capacity that "Pfaff" machines do. At JM Couture we use both. I hope this was of help.
