You need to study your ass off!!!! As many top-level science (at least two) and maths courses as you can lock down, plus English. You should definitely talk with a councilor (or an actual doctor if you or your parents know any) to get advice. You'll have to work hard as hell!!!! Maybe even volunteer at a hospital in your spare time (of which you will have none if you actually want get into a medical school after secondary school. The competition is very intense, so work hard!!!!) You should also expect to take admissions tests like the United Kingdom Clinical Aptitude Test and the Biomedical Admissions Test. Make sure you study for these and get them scheduled as soon as recommended.
The good news is, if you qualify for the medical program at a major university, you go to school for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Sorry. I guess that's a bigger deal here in America. Nothing's free in the land of the free, right?) It takes five to six years at a medical university, which comprises two or three years academic work followed by 3 years clinical. Then, you start a two year paid "internship" after which you choose your specialty and begin residency. Then you learn neurosurgery specifically. Good luck! It's all very competitive!!!
thank you, so much studying to look forward to! :)
