But the main question is Quality, where all the search engines depends on. As, in a short example you can get a guest blog post link from a cheap PBN blog in just 5/10 bucks. But on the other side, if you'd participate and a build a relation with other bloggers under your niche then they'll also participate in your site/blog discussions and might give link back from the blog posts to your site's useful resources.
The most fundamental principle of SEO is to create great content that people love, share and link to. (I was recently exposed to the idea that content that is easy to discuss and share gets better SEO that content that has greater permanence/significance, but isn't very much worth talking about. I think this is quite true, and interesting to consider.)
