What are the ethical issues in child abuse?

It's just messed up. One, you shouldn't treat any person like that, if you can't legally abuse an animal than you shouldn't a human. Two, they're a child, so their fairly helpless, so you're taking advantage of that. There's a lot more issues than these, but these should give you a good start.
