What are the differences between a steel pan and a talking drum musical instrument?

Hey there ,I used to play the steel pan so yeah I know quite a bit about it. A steel pan or steel drum is a musical instrument that originated from Trinidad and Tobago. They are usually made up of slightly thick sheet metal. Sound is produced when struck by rubber end sticks. If you have seen the movie "Enchanted" or "The little Mermaid", each includes steel pan music in one of each movie's songs. A talking drum instrument comes from Africa (around West Africa). It is shaped like an hourglass with pieces of cords surrounding the body. They both look really different from each other. They each have varying sizes as well as different sounds produced. Anyways hope this helped. :)
