What are the best companies in the uk for a 16 yo to get a job with ?

You're looking at trade/retail companies but in reality there are none. At 16 you have no maturity, no skills and no experience. There are some companies that will employ you under apprenticeship schemes but the pay is minimum wage which is now, I think, approx 12,000 pounds a year.. before tax. Potentially you could be earning far more than that as you are really getting in on the ground floor. One of my mates did an appreticeship with Bovis (housing construction company), started at 16 on 8,000 quid (minimum wage) and when I was graduating university at 21 he was already earning 40,000+.. back in 1990 which was fantastic money then. He's now some big wig manager on 90k (more I believe).
