I want to get a Steam account but my mom wants a good reason why I should get a Steam account. She wants to know why it is better then the app store or better then getting an xbox. Please help!
What are some good reasons why I should get a Steam account?

I bought a game there on a recommendation from a friend. It was the train program. The first thing I noticed is that each train was different, and there was no file that explained how to drive a train, and it was frustrating trying to learn by doing. Then the program announced that I had insufficient memory, so I spent a hundred bux to get more memory. Next, Steam announced that the memory error was a bug, and they had fixed it, but I was still out a hundred bux. A few days later I heard that the site had been hacked, and the admins didn't seem to care much. I decided I really did not want any part of such an unprofessional operation.
The reason you want Steam is because of DRM. Just about 99% of games you buy at the store now have DRM protection so you need STEAM and Internet to install it. You don't need it to play afterwards but you o need it to install. STEAM is also cool in ways that you can buy older games to play on your new pc systems that are old to the point where you couldnt get them to work any other way. They update the program file. I used steam to get Elder Scrolls 3:Morrowind, Icewind Dale, Baldurs Gate 2:Shadows of Amn, Diablo 2, and a bunch of other older fantasy games running on my Win. 10. It is like a store how they have sales on games and equipment.
Plus the account is free to set up. You just pay for the games and programs and such.
Plus the app store games are so short and cheap. I downloaded a game onto my Amazon Fire through the appstore and I beat it in like less than 25 minutes
