To open up the cheat bar you'll need to press Shift+Ctrl+C. If you type "Help", i will give you a table of cheat codes and explain what they do.
Most common one to use is "Motherlode" - it give you 50,000 simoleons.
"Kaching" will give you 1,000 simoleons.
"Moveobjects on/off" enables you to place any object (buy and build) anywhere you want to.
"unlockoutfits on/off" enables you to use any of the hidden career clothes in CAS that you have to earn by getting a promotion.
In order for some other cheats to work, you'll need to type "testingcheatsenabled true". If you have this enabled, when you press shift while clicking on a sim you get interactions such as "trigger age transition", "Edit in CAS" or "Edit Traits". Or if you click on your sim's mailbox(again Shift+click) , it will give you options like "Make all sims happy", "make friends for me", "Make needs statics"(your needs will always be on max, unless you click on the mailbox again and click on "Make needs dynamic"). Also just by having this cheat on it enabled you to drag you sims' friendship/need bars up and down as much as you want. It also gives you another wide range of different interactions.
Also if you have this cheat on, if you type in afterwards "buydebug", you can buy Create a World items(eg. rabbit holes or spawners), Lifetime award items(eg. hower bed), or items you can only get when you go into different worlds eg. In China the martial arts skill thing. Also you have the cheat, which again only work when testingcheats are enabled. "familyfunds (household's surname) (simoleons you want the household to have)". It easier then having to type "motherlode" in various times.
Also there is a cheat that enables you to use split levels when building a house, the use of this cheat can be quiet tricky, and confusing and has to be continuously turned on and off in order to not mess your whole building up, but when done correctly you can build really cool things with it. The cheat is "constrainfloorelevation true/false" (This can be a little confusing, well at least it was for me, since my native language isn't English, but the cheat is actually turned on when you type "false" and is turned off when you type "true").
"resetsim (sim's first name) (sim's surname)" - if your sim is glitches out or stuck, then this cheat puts then in a safe spot and puts them in good mood. As far as I observed it can sometimes reset your sim's age as well, which is not very convenient. Also sometimes when your game lags or slows down, it means that some of the sims in the world might have been stuck or glitches out. if you type in "resetsim *", it will reset all sims in your current world. It seems to fix some of the lagging problems too.
Also a little trick, if you open up your cheats bar and press the up arrow key, it will take you to the last cheat code you used. This is handy when building with constrainfloorelevation, because you don't have to keep on typing out the cheat again and again.
