I'm a recent graduate from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and majored in Psychology/minored in Spanish. My overall UM GPA is a 3.206. I attended Western Michigan University my first 1.5 years of college and my overall GPA from WMU was about a 3.85. Cumulative total GPA combined would be a 3.4 (but i'm not sure if they look at my previous school GPA). I have been a member in an a cappella group for 3 years and became secretary of my group for 1 year. I volunteered for 1.5 years at the local hospital as a patient representative and have 1.5 years worth of research assistant experience. I studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain for 1.5 months and took culture/language classes there. I also have worked at UM's School of Social Work for 2 years now (in facilities and continuing education departments). I have a lot of customer service experience as well - worked in restaurants and retail since I was 15 years old. I am currently taking a gap year and would be applying at age 22. What do you think my chances are/do I even stand a chance? Will they even look at my WMU grades from my first 1.5 years or do they mainly focus on last two years of college when calculating GPA? Any advice/input is greatly appreciated!
