I am currently studying a HND in Practical Journalism at my local college, and I'm in the final year of this course.
I also had plans to go to university after this year in a bid to extend my qualifications into a degree.
However, after applying to three universities through UCAS, I realised that I had made a massive mistake in my personal statement by stressing which university I wanted to go to. This now limits my chances to just my first choice, as the other two universities will look at the personal statement and go "he doesn't want to study here".
So now I really have to start looking at alternatives in case I don't get my first choice, and I just don't know what to do. My plan for the last three-four years had been to do journalism and get through to uni after completing a HND, but the chances of that are now very slim.
I don't yet feel ready for the world of work, and jobs in journalism these days usually require AT LEAST a degree in the subject.
What do I do? I've no idea what the next stage of my life could possibly be from here on in?
