Using the activity series, I need an example of a combination that will not react to give a product in a single replacement reaction. I understand that the metals on the list can only be oxidzed by the ions of the elements below it, so this means that a metal can't be oxidized by the ions of the elements above it. For example, gold can't be oxidzed because it's at the bottom of the activity series, correct?
What are combinations that will not react to give a product in a single replacement reaction?
