i workout and i eat about 1100ish calories per day; and im 18. This year, ive gained about 2kgs or 4lbs. However, i can also do pullups now and im stronger. Is it normal to be heavier because of muscle mass? Thank you ! * ps, im about 156cm so eating 1100ish calories with 3/4 days of workouts per week is fine *

The reason you gain weight as you increase muscle mass is because muscle weighs more than fat. So while you lose fat and inches from the body the scales show a weight gain. The only thing I would watch is your calorie intake. It is low, very low especially considering you are working out 3/4 days per week. The harder you train the greater the number of calories you will require each day. If you want to build muscle you are going to need to increase your intake and look at the foods you are eating because protein is key.
