We have drain flies that seem to be coming from around our hot water heater. What can we do??

We don't see any visible leaks around the tank but the bugs won't go away!  Based on where we seem to find the most bugs, it makes sense they are coming for the water heater. Any advice short of replacing our water heater?

i really think you should look into the hot water heater cause it could be stale water setting on the tray somewhere around the water heater this sometimes happens if the water is stagmented and has been setting there a very long time
