... is this a correct pronoun sentence
The pronoun usage is fine but Id say it this way:
We chopped up meat and vegetables and cooked them with a lot of spices; we loved the meal!
A pronoun refers to the last preceding qualified noun. "It" does not refer to any preceding qualified noun, that's why the sentence is not correct.
