I'm taking an online course on the history of the Louvre. According to the professor, "The city of Paris itself filled what is now the interior of the Louvre. As many as 6,000 people in the early years of the 19th century lived in what is now the Louvre." I've never heard this before, nor can I find any further information about this on the internet. If you could provide me with an answer and/or a couple links, that would be greatly appreciated. :)

No- The Paris was not in the Louvre. Here is a good history link of the Louvre. http://www.louvre.fr/en/history-louvre
