I had brown discharge last year sometime around October. The brown discharge lasted for only two days and there wasn't much.I haven't had the problem since. Now it's June. It's been a long time since I got the brown discharge,so was it really my period?
I keep searching online for an answer, but most questions are from people who had already received their period.I forgot to mention, that I had not gotten my period prior to the brown discharge.
Additional information that may be useful-
Height-About 5'2
Weight-About 94 lb
Age-14 (Turning 15 in October).
Please be mature about this for I am just a teen seeking an answer to her question.

When i was 11 i had the same issue ! it happened for 2 days and then stopped. Within the next 3-4 months i got my actual period and i never had any problems. We obviously arent the same though so if it is really concerning you, you might want to tell your parents/parent/guardian or your doctor.
i wouldnt say that it was your period. and for the fact that your 14 i know people who didnt gettheir period until they were 16 or 17 its really not all that uncommon. as for the brown discharge i'm 14 and i've been having my period for a year and i remember a few times where i've gotten brown discharge before my period ever started no need to worry about it its pretty normal. here are some signs you might start your period soon.
you're between the age of nine and eighteen
it's been about 2 years since your breasts have started to grow
theres the whole hair down there thing (which im sure you most likely know about)
theres discharge which might even turn brown for a while before you start your period
your stomach is looking or feeling bloated
your breasts feel tender or swollen
you have a sudden breakout of pimples
you feel cranky or you cry more than you usually do
you're tired and you dont feel like doing much
lower back pain or aches
you feel like you've gained weight but you still want to devour everything in the fridge
you dont have to have ALL of these symptoms before your period and experiencing one of them doesnt mean you should break out the maxi pads. but several of the happening together could be a good sign that your first period could be coming
good luck from one teen to another :)
