Ok so I am on job seekers allowance, and posted a query on yahooanswers. I explained that I had been offered a job, but was still claiming benefits because I haven't started the job yet (the offer hasn't even come through in paper yet, anyway).
Someone responded on my yahooanswers question, saying:
"Your IP address has now been sent to the job centre, and your benefits will be stopped and possible allegations of fraud will be brought to you" - or something similar to that.
This got me worried to death.
Do you think this person was just making that up?
(Plus it's not even fraud anyway, I haven't even started a job as I mentioned!)
Can the job centre really log my IP address, and if so, find out who I am from it?
