True or False: World War II was not a war for resources?

If you want to study war you have to put up with an incredible amount of baloney. Every shooting war is accompanied by a war of words, trying to make the enemy appear to be subhuman. The bankers speak of liquidity, meaning they print counterfeit money, politicians speak of patriotism, meaning "Die for your country, you poor fool!" Homebodies sing songs about something or other, and thousands of babies get made and never meet their fathers. Some never meet their mothers.

So what is this "war for resources" of which you speak? It is pretty obvious that war wastes resources and kills people, so it is almost impossible to put any positive value on it, but people insist on going to war anyway. One can only surmise that it's religious: the whole world is possessed by a spirit of stupid.
