Traveling through EU on a car registered in USA?

Hello ladies and gentlemen!

I have a question about traveling through EU on a car.
Here is description of my situation:
I'm a citizen of Ukraine and I want to rent a car of my friend which is located in Poland and travel with my family to Croatia (Poland->Slovakia->Hungary->Croatia), BUT the car is registered in USA, my friend is a citizen of USA, so the question is if I can drive a car registered in USA if I'm not an owner of this car.

I suspect you are making trouble for yourself. In theory there is no reason why you should not drive your friend's car, with his permission in writing. In practice you will spend your entire holiday in police stations explaining your situation policemen in authoritarian states.
