Tracing question. Man's never met hit child?

My companion believes he's had a child with a woman from a relationship a few years prior. They were together when she said she was pregnant; he was there up until the birth of the child with the mindset that child was his. She has never let him see this child from the start of labor, as well as made it completely impossible for him to send in tests to start a legal process to begin any chance of custody.

My main objective putting this concern on the internet is, where does he start? What steps can you take (within a reasonable cost; younger adults) to begin a process of knowing where to locate your potential child?

((I have searched several things online to find any advance in ideas of how. Several options come up to be child abduction etc.))

she could have been seeing somebody else at the time she got pregnant and when her and him split up she probably felt scorned there for not letting him see the child has she made any attempt to collect child support from him how old would the child be today was the mom into any drugs things that would make sense if she was unfit was he made to believe he was the father does he have a strong belief it is his with out this information he really can't go no where with it she might be running scared believeing he would try and take the child sometimes its hard to track down a woman like this do a background check on her see what comes up this would be a good way to trace down her where abouts hopefully you have enough information to track her down
