"Education" does not identify any particular topic. It might be:
~What the kids actually learn
~What the parents want the kids to learn
~What the school board wants the kids to learn
~What the state government wants the kids to learn
~What the federal government wants the kids to learn
~What other institutions want the kids to learn
~What the teachers actually teach
~What the groups listed above want the teachers to teach
~What the kids learn from experience after trying to apply what they know to actual life
~What the kids learn from each other
It is quite possible for ALL of these to be very different from each other. In actual fact, most of what the kids learn, they learn from each other or from cartoon shows on tv.
Bottom line: any time someone says "education", you have to ask what they are talking about.
