2x + 3y + z = 17
x - 3y + 2z = -8
5x -2y +3z = 5
I tried it and no matter which variable I eliminate I can't get an answer. Solve by elimination.
2x + 3y + z = 17
x - 3y + 2z = -8
5x -2y +3z = 5
I tried it and no matter which variable I eliminate I can't get an answer. Solve by elimination.
2x + 3y + z = 17
x - 3y + 2z = -8
5x -2y +3z = 5
Take #1 & #2
2x + 3y + z = 17
-2x + 6y - 2z = 16 Multiplied everything by -2.
---------------------- ADD
0 ..... 9y - z = 33
z = -9y - 33 Substitute this for z in #3 and one of the others and solve it as a problem with two unknowns.
