Mystery is the Greek word for secret. It is something someone knows but won't tell anybody. A problem is anything you have to deal with but don't know how.
Theology is the arrogant assumption that a human can study gods as they might study science. Science is anything that can be measured. Spirit is anything that can not be measured. The only way we can know anything about the spirit realm is if some spirit chooses to reveal it to us. All the revelations have been collected into a book. Anybody can read the book and know exactly as much as anybody else who has read the book. This is very annoying to people who want to make up something else so they can have superior knowledge and authority over other people.
Comparative religion is a cut down version of theology. You can not understand a system if you don't believe it. By definition it doesn't make sense. So the only parts of religions that can be compared are the parts you can see: the ceremonies.
There is exactly one account of creation: "In the beginning god created the heaven and the earth." There is no more creating until verse 21 where God creates soul, and the third act of creating is spirits for Adam and Eve. (God is a spirit, so His image is another spirit.)
You apparently are taking a course in religious bull-oney. It is not reliable to ask people to tell you what the bible says. Many people will make up stuff because they don't know what it says, and many will make up stuff because they wish it would not say what it says. You just have to read it for yourself. Read a chapter of Proverbs every day. Proverbs has 31 chapters so you can keep your place by just looking at a calendar. There is no religion or nothing in Proverbs and you don't have to believe anything. Just read every day. When you are comfortable with that, then read the bible from Romans to 2 Thessalonians over and over until you start to remember what it says. That is the part that applies to Christians. Here is a book to help you to understand the bible. It's a free download and you can get a hard copy at any bible book store.

The answer is very simple - don't accept everything that you read - stop, ask questions and investigate till you realize the Truth. If the scriptures say that the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:20-21), then why do you go to church? If in Corinthians 3:16, it says - God lives in the temple of your heart, then why are you searching for God? When we interpret the scriptures in the right manner, when we go in search of God because we love God then we will find God. But remember God cannot be found, God has to be realized. God will be realized when we open our real eyes, God- realization comes with self-realization . So if we truly want all these answers and we want God, we must ask the questions - who am I, where did I come from, where will I go? These questions will reveal all the answers.
