The building covers a rectangular area
25m * 35m = 875m².
The width of the sidewalk is 2m.
The outer rim of the area covered by the sidewalk is then:
(25m + 4m) * (35m + 4m) = 29m * 39m = 1131m².
Subtract the area of the building and what remains is the area of the sidewalk:
1131m² - 875m² = 256m².
