I did some photo's for a company which I allowed them to use for free while I worked for them. Now after a few years their still using them. Can I get them to remove the images or can they use it for life? I have not given them the copyright. I'm also in the UK

Rather than ask them to remove the photo tell them your fee to use them. Then if they don't take them down or pay you can sue for the fee. One important caveat is if you were employed by this company full time when you took the photos (regardless if you used your own equipment) then the company owns the rights to the photos, not you. If you took the photos as a a freelancer then you own the rights to the images assuming there was no contract stating otherwise.
