Tell me how your complete your task when your work load was heavy.?

One boss once did multiple things one at a time thoughout the day. He would start something, then move on to another and another. Then begin the process all over again. He called it swiss cheese work. It was a great way to deal with multiple assignments and complete them in a timely manner. I still manage by the same basic concept.
