i was going out with my boyfriend but then we broke up because we dont see eachother that often. but i reaaaaally fell for him. it sucked so much when we broke up i was depressed we still talk though. my bestfriend erik is also his best friend. so erik told me he was moving to another state to bording school because he has family problems and wanted to get away from the problems. i have mixed emotions i dont know if i should stand by him and support him as much as i can and be a good friend to him or just get over him and stop talking to him and just leave his life forever. this is hard for me i dont know what i want :/ its driving me crazy that i cant figure out whats best. what should i do?

Okay, wait a moment, take a deep breath, and listen: DO BOTH.
Yes, it's possible.
First ask yourself: Am I a decent person? If so, you will support your friend because he is trying to better his life in a respectable and safe manner. If not, ignoring him is the selfish thing to do.
If he's far away, you don't have to talk to him everyday and best buddies. Just write/call once everyone month to give an update on each other's lives and give each other the best of luck. While you're separated, you can grow into your own person and do things that are defined by your relationship. You have a life outside of these people, right? Then go explore it! Meet new people. Do new things. The more you introduce the "new" into your life, the less you focus on the past. If you have met new people, you won't be mourning your relationship when you infrequently talk to him, but use your memories as a basis for a new type of friendship.
